The start of work on a series of Moscow species dates back to 1800 when F.I AM. Alekseev at the expense of the cabinet E. And. AT. [His (her) Imperial Highness] in the second half of September was sent to Moscow. This and two other paintings ("Square in the Moscow Kremlin" and "Square in front of the Assumption Cathedral in the Moscow Kremlin"), obviously, were written by an artist in St. Petersburg on the basis of sketches made in Moscow. In 1810, she was presented by the artist himself Emperor Alexander I. For this picture f.I AM. Alekseev received a diamond ring from the emperor.
