Kurakin Alexander Borisovich (1758-1818)-Russian diplomat, vice-chancellor, senator.

Brought up with the Grand Duke Pavel Petrovich, with the reign of which received all kinds of insignia. Vice Chancellor (1796), a real secret adviser, chancellor of Russian orders. In 1798 he fell into disgrace and moved to Moscow. Under Alexander I-Vice-Chancellor (1801), a messenger in Vienna (1806), Russian ambassador to Paris (1809-1812). Participated in the conclusion of the Tilsite world (1807).

It is depicted in a dark blue caftan with Andreevskaya and Vladimir ribbons over the shoulder, on the chest of the stars of the orders of Andrei the First-Called and St. Vladimir, on the neck on the ribbon cross of St. Anna of the 1st degree with diamonds, next to the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky with diamonds, on the neck of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, on the right on the chest sewing a star of this order. Under the caftan over the left shoulder, the orange tape of the Order of the Black Eagle is marked. On the table are the star and sign of the Order of the Honorary Legion, which a. B. Kurakin received on July 9, 1807 for participating in the preparation of the Tilsite world.

Dates from similar subscription portraits. The identical subscription portrait of 1808 belonged to E. AND. Naryshkina (Petersburg), the whereabouts are unknown.
