Safron Borisovich Shubin (1727–1782) depicted in the portrait, a fourteen -year -old youth was determined in the land cadet corps. From 1743 he served in the Navy Midemarin. In 1760 he was granted to lieutenants for participating in the sea landing during the Seven Years. In 1764 he was enrolled in the staff of the Cadet Corps captain of the 1st rank, and from 1771 until his death he practically performed the duties of the corps commander. In 1772 he was produced in the captains of the Brigadier rank, from 1776-captain of the Majorian rank. The portrait is depicted in the uniform of the captain of the brigadier rank of the Marine Cadet Corps.
