Ruin Tower (Arch. YU.M. Felten, 1771–1773)-a monumental and spectacular monument in the Catherine Park of Tsarskoye Selo, one of the group of monuments dedicated to the Russian-Turkish wars. The surface is artificially aged, imitates an old building. The inscription on the tower: “In memory of the war declared by Russia by the Turks, this stone was delivered in 1768”.
Gatchina (Oryol) gates (arch. AND. Rinaldi, 1777–1778) stand on the road to Gatchina, at that time owned by GR. G. G. Orlov. Dedicated to the actions to eliminate the plague and the fight against robberies and looting in Moscow in connection with the epidemic of 1771, staged at the site of temporary wooden triumphal gates. The inscription on the gate “Orlov from trouble is spared Moscow” – a line from a poem in. And. Maikova dedicated to this event.
