Artist – Schwartz
In the paintings of the founder of Russian historical painting, Schwartz was affected by knowledge of historical details, thanks to which the artist managed to recreate the color of time. A special place in a series of similar paintings occupies "Palm Sunday in Moscow under Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich". The solemn procession of the tsar and the patriarch from the Cathedral of Vasily Blessed to the Spassk gates of the Kremlin is shown with the marginal accuracy in the image of robes, accessories, ancient architecture of Moscow. For this picture, Schwartz was awarded the title of academician.
