The artist is the Venetian
The author of the portrait is Alexei Gavrilovich Venetinov – a master of the household genre, who created an original artistic direction called Venetianov’s school. Working as an official in the postal and then forest departments, he was engaged in painting on his own, took lessons in. L. Borovikovsky, copied paintings in the Hermitage and began his creative life as a portrait. For the portrait K. And. Golovachevsky with three pupils of the Academy of Venice, received the title of Academician in 1811.
