The picture of Alexander Vishnyakov is one of the earliest images of peasant meals. A grotesque, characteristic of the whole scene, is similar to the image of a rough nature, characteristic of the Dutch and Flemish paintings of the masters of the 17th century, which was imitated by Russian artists of the mid -18th century.
