Nikita Ivanovich Panin (1718–1783) – count, Russian statesman, diplomat. 1747 – a messenger in Denmark, then in Sweden. 1760–1773 – teacher of Tsarevich Pavel Petrovich. In 1762 he took an active part in the palace coup, which elevated to the throne to Catherine II, 1763–1782 – headed the Foreign Collegium.
