Chichagov Vasily Yakovlevich (1726–1809) – Russian sailor, admiral.
In 1745 he began naval service in the Baltic Fleet. In 1765–1766 he led organized at the initiative of m. AT. Lomonosov by a secret expedition through the North Arctic Ocean. In 1768 he became the main commander of the Arkhangelsk port. During the Russo-Turkish War of 1768–1774, he commanded a detachment of the Don flotilla, defending the Kerch Strait. In 1770-1772 he became the commander of Revelsky, then Kronstadt ports. In 1782 he received the title of admiral. During the Russo-Swedish War of 1788–1790 he commanded the Baltic Fleet.
It is depicted in the vitsmund of the Russian navy with orders: St. Anna 1st degree (1772), St. Apostle Andrei the First -Called (1790), St. George 1st degree (1790).
