The artist is unknown
Dated by the costumes of guests in a boat, as well as on the features of the clothes of the horsemen in the foreground. The rich estate is depicted on the shore of the lake in one of the South Russian provinces. The fact that this is the south of Russia is evidenced by pyramidal poplars and peacocks. About the same thing that we have a rich estate, both a large two -story manor house, and fashionable picturesque “ruins”, and a “funny” three -masted ship, moored to the opposite shore. The fact that the picture does not depict a river, but a lake is evidenced by swans – lake, not river birds. An empty crew must be awaiting a company walking in a boat. In the foreground, riding a horse in an officer’s vitz-mundi, is probably the owner of the estate. The picturesque features of the picture suggest that it is written by the artist of the local school, it is quite possible serfdom.
