Graig Samuel Karlovich (1735 (6?) –1788)-a native of Scotland, from 1764 in the Russian service (captain of the 1st rank). He participated in the battle of Chesmens and the 1st expedition in the archipelago as an adviser to the commander in chief Alexei Orlov. Rear Admiral (since 1770), Vice Admiral (from 1775), Admiral (from 1780). At the beginning of the Russian-Swedish war of 1788–1790 he commanded the Baltic Fleet, defeating the enemy in the Golund battle. On his projects a number of important reforms were carried out
