Irenaeus (Klementyevsky Ioann Andreevich, 1753-1818), Archbishop of Pskov, Livonia and Courland-spiritual writer, preacher, translator, member of the Russian Academy. He studied at the Moscow Slavic-Greek-Latin Academy, was there as a teacher, later hegumen in different monasteries, preached in the court church in the presence of Empress Catherine II; from 1792 Bishop of Tver, since 1796 Archbishop of Pskov. There is a legend according to which Emperor Paul I made him his Adjutant General, granting him anxelbants.
